Great Stocking Stuffer!

What Is It:
A unique mixing paddle designed for use with tilt-head KitchenAid stand mixers as well as Cuisinart, Viking, and DeLonghi .

Why You Need It: If you own one of these stand mixers, you know that stopping the mixer regularly to scrape the sides of the bowl, though a bit of a bother, is a must for thorough incorporation of ingredients. With the Beater Blade, those starts-and-stops are eliminated. Rubber "wings" on the heavy-duty plastic paddle work much like a windshield wiper, constantly scraping the ingredients from the sides and bottom of the bowl. GadgetGals tested this paddle with thin and thick batters and cookie doughs (very stiff cookie dough such as gingerbread cookies and bread dough are not recommended) and found it totally lives up to its promise of scrape-free mixing. Plus it reduces mixing time and enables you to use lower mixing speeds.

Tips: Great stocking stuffer idea for your favorite baker! The beater design has more corners and crevices than the traditional paddles, making it trickier to clean off whatever sticks to the paddle. Looking at it another way, though, it's a beater-licker's delight. Thankfully, the paddle is dishwasher-safe on the top rack.

Details: There are four different models, so be sure to order the one designed for your size and make of mixer. Prices range from $25 to $40 depending on the model at www.amazon.com.
