WHAT IT IS

Baby, it's cold outside! After a winter outdoor activity, a steaming drink is just the restorative comfort. The BonJour Hot Chocolate Maker heats up a foaming hot beverage in the microwave, then the whip included froths up satisfying cups of warmth, all in less than five minutes.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Ease and convenience are the hallmarks of this device. The 32-ounce ceramic, microwave-proof pot is the modern-day version of the European hot chocolate makers of yore. Pour 4 cups of milk or an equal combination of milk and water along with chopped semesweet chocolate or chocolate syrup into the pot and microwave for 4 minutes. Remove; place lid on the pot and insert the battery-powered mixing unit through the hole in the lid and push the button to whirl, mix, and foam your beverage of choice: old-fashioned hot chocolate, cafe mocha, chai tea, or cafe au lait. The well-designed, easy-pour spout and comfortable handle make it easy to pour out your aromatic beverage. Yum!

DETAILS

The BonJour Hot Chocolate Maker (model 53770) cylinder is made of microwave-proof ceramic and is recommended to be hand washed. Also includes a plastic lid and battery-powered mixing wand (batteries not included) plus a recipe booklet. Retails for $25 at www.bonjourproducts.com.

GadgetGals favorite warm beverage recipes (not included in the recipe booklet) are Chai Tea for Jan and Cafe Mocha for Nan.
