Introduced at the 2009 Housewares Show, this oval model is so new we haven't had a chance to test it yet. But judging by its maker Cuisinart, we expect good results. The point of difference from Cuisinart's other models is size: 3.5 quart. This down-sizing means you'll need to use smaller-yielding recipes than most other slow cookers. Otherwise, it has all of the best cooking features--removable insert, programmable, three cooking settings (simmer, low, and high), 24-hour LCD timer, and warm setting. A unique feature we've not seen with other models is a cooking rack that you can use to slow-cook in individual baking dishes. Retail is $59.95.
